The Growzebo and 15-foot Dome have similar floor areas, but their interiors work differently. The Growzebo leaves the floor open for your choice of beds and furnishings, while the Growing Dome design reserves space for an above-ground pond that stores heat.

A longer growing season or a year-round garden?
If you mainly want to start plants in spring and keep harvesting later into fall, the Growzebo gives you a sheltered place to garden through those changing seasons. Its wood frame and 16 mm five-wall polycarbonate enclose an open interior, and a heat-activated roof vent releases warm air. You can add a solar fan, shade cloth, or misting as your summer conditions require.
For gardening through winter, look at the small Growing Domes. Their insulated design and above-ground pond help moderate temperature swings: the water absorbs warmth during sunny periods and releases some as the greenhouse cools. Ventilation and air circulation help manage the growing environment as conditions change.
What you want to grow still matters. Cold-tolerant greens need less warmth than tomatoes or citrus, and your winter sunlight affects both plant growth and solar heating. How much room will you have inside?
The 15-foot Growing Dome provides 175 square feet, while the 18-foot provides 255. That is about 46% more floor area for three additional feet of diameter. Once the pond and paths are accounted for, the difference can give you more room to combine growing beds with a work surface, larger plants, or a place to sit.
For a garden focused on herbs, greens, seed starting, and a few seasonal crops, the 15-foot Dome is a useful place to begin. If you already want several growing areas or expect to spend time inside with someone else, compare the 18-foot before settling on the smaller size. We can help arrange the beds and paths around those uses.
In the Growzebo, you can use the perimeter for beds or benches and leave the center open. Its lack of a built-in thermal-mass pond gives you more freedom to rearrange that space, though it serves a different growing season. Garden beds and benches are optional additions.

A visit can make the size difference easier to judge, especially if you are deciding how much room to leave for working or sitting among the plants.
Plan the site and assembly
A greenhouse you use often should be convenient to reach and water. Look for a sunny, well-drained location with room for the door to open and for you to work around the outside. For winter growing, pay particular attention to shade from nearby trees and buildings when the sun is low.
The foundation and anchoring need to suit the ground and local wind and snow requirements. This matters for the Growzebo even if you plan to use it only from spring through fall, because the structure remains outside through winter. We can help you review the product specifications, and your local building department or project professional can confirm the requirements for your site.
The Growzebo is designed for owner assembly or installation by a qualified local contractor. With a 15- or 18-foot Growing Dome, you can also choose Supervisor Only or Full Crew Installation. Our installation guide explains the work involved so you can decide how much you want to take on.
What to include in the project budget
Along with the kit, allow for delivery, foundation and site work, assembly, and the beds, soil, or furnishings you want inside. Growing Dome buyers also purchase some bulky materials locally, including pond lumber and sheet metal, foundation-wall insulation, and undersoil piping. The owner-supplied items list identifies those materials by Dome size.
The Growzebo has its own foundation and anchoring requirements, with beds, benches, and climate accessories available separately.
