Growing Dome Installation Options
Growing Spaces provides four distinct greenhouse installation options, depending on the size of your Growing Dome®: Owner Self-Install (DIY), Supervisor Only, Supervisor Plus One, or Full Crew Installation.

Self-Install (DIY)
Growing Spaces offers a DIY greenhouse option for all sizes. Building a greenhouse from Growing Spaces is straightforward when following the instructions in the manual and installation videos provided with each Growing Dome. Many people find it an exciting family or community event, similar to a barn raising. Witnessing this unique, round structure rise in just a few days is breathtaking and incredibly satisfying. Additionally, you receive unlimited technical support during business hours from our staff at Growing Spaces, so if you encounter any issues, we’re here to assist you.
Growing Spaces recommends that at least two people participate in the installation, although some tasks can be done independently. We advise customers to plan for their self-installation to take at least twice as long (4-7 days) as our estimated installation times for a certified crew from Growing Spaces (2-4 days). This is due to the learning curve associated with building a greenhouse for the first time. For our greenhouse kits, we recommend having at least basic construction skills, such as experience working with a drill, saw, hammer, and ladders. Scaffolding is required for the 33′ and 42′ Growing Domes. We also suggest a higher experience level for these sizes or hiring a local contractor.
- Estimated build time for sizes 26′ and smaller is four to seven days. For the 33′ or 42′ Growing Domes, it’s six to ten days.
- With a Growing Dome purchase, you’ll get access to an online, step-by-step instruction manual. This manual includes pictures, drawings, models, YouTube videos, and written instructions.
- The components are pre-cut, color-coded, and labeled. Two to six people, depending on the size, are recommended to construct the kit, although some tasks can be done alone.
- Basic construction tools and experience are needed for sizes 26′ and smaller. More experience is required for the 33′ and 42′ Growing Domes, as well as the ability to work on scaffolding.

Even if you are choosing one of our installation options, you will still be responsible for site preparation and the foundation installation, owner-supplied items, designing, installing, and filling the raised beds and undersoil system.
Supervisor and Plus One Installations
The supervisor collaborates with the owner and/or locally hired crew to install the greenhouse. They assist with installation and provide instructions to the crew, volunteers, and/or owners.
We offer phone support leading up to installation to guide site preparation. Installation usually takes 2-5 days, depending on weather, dome size, number of domes, and crew expertise.
Supervisors (and Plus One) are hired for 20-40 hours, depending on the dome size. This doesn’t guarantee complete installation, but the supervisor provides instructions for any remaining tasks. Installation includes labor, lodging, meals, and travel; separate shipping costs apply.
Full Crew Installation

The full crew installation option is available for all Growing Dome sizes. Similar to the supervisor installation options, a Certified Growing Dome Installation Crew can assemble your geodesic Growing Dome in 2-5 days, making it the most convenient option for owners to start growing quickly. In this case, you won’t have to hire additional hands. We have efficient, friendly, and reliable crews that take pride in their work and have a deep understanding of the product.
Phone support is available before installation to assist with site preparation. You’ll be responsible for setting up the foundation and additional items listed above. We guarantee a complete installation with the purchase of a full crew.
Installation includes labor, lodging, meals, and travel; however, separate shipping costs apply. Installation of add-ons and upgrades is not standard and will incur additional costs.
