Our cold frames and raised beds give greens, herbs, and seedlings a protected space within an existing garden. A cover starts at $395 and measures about 46 by 27 inches; you can place it over a bed you already have or choose a version that includes a raised or elevated planting bed.

For a walk-in greenhouse, the Growzebo™ offers about 167 square feet of floor space for $8,450. It suits spring seed starting and gardening through fall, with room to arrange beds, benches, or containers. If you want to keep growing through winter, a similarly sized Growing Dome is designed for all four seasons.

Growing Domes start at $11,950 for the 15-foot model, with about 175 square feet of floor space. With six sizes up to 1,385 square feet, we can help you choose enough room for the beds and containers you want while allowing for paths and the pond.

Our cold frames use rigid five-wall polycarbonate in a solid pine frame, with reinforced hinges and an automatic Univent opener to help regulate temperature. The raised and elevated versions add a Douglas fir bed with a metal-lined interior.

Local wind and snow requirements also matter when choosing a walk-in greenhouse. The Growzebo combines a wood frame with 16 mm five-wall polycarbonate in a structure rated for a 115 mph basic wind speed and a 25 psf ground snow load.

Growing Domes use #1 Douglas fir struts beneath 16 mm five-wall polycarbonate, with a foundation wall designed for insulation. All six standard sizes have a 115 mph wind capacity, but snow capacity changes with diameter: from 85 psf for the 15-foot Dome to 30 psf for the 42-foot Dome, using flat-roof design values (Pf).

For higher wind requirements, we offer upgraded wooden foundation walls with capacities that vary by Dome size, plus an upgraded insulated concrete form (ICF) foundation wall rated at 160 mph. With a Growing Dome, the structural components arrive pre-cut, pre-drilled, and color-coded, with instructions and videos to guide assembly. Along with the frame and hardware, glazing, entryway, and foundation-wall components, the kit includes reflective north-wall insulation, ventilation and air-circulation equipment, shade cloth, and selected pond parts.

You'll buy some bulky materials locally, including foundation-wall insulation, pond lumber and sheet metal, and undersoil piping. How much of the assembly you take on will also affect the budget. The Growzebo is designed for you or a qualified local contractor to assemble, while Growing Dome buyers can also choose assisted or Full Crew Installation. In a Growing Dome, pond water absorbs warmth during sunny periods and releases some as the greenhouse cools, while insulation slows heat loss.
